Both centres are dedicated to aiding Children With Hearing Impairment [CWHI] with a view to improve and develop their learning abilities focused on illustrative studies, computer literacy and general awareness to facilitate their absorption into mainstream activities of life.



The centres conduct several tailor-made IEPs as well as Group Sessions involving not only pupils but their parents as well, so that the process of continued communication remains uninterrupted whether at the centres or at home. VAB is aiming to reach out to 150 stakeholders by March 2027. At present, VAB caters to CWHI in the age group 3-10 years. VSS with PEC have conducted 615 IEPs for 58 CWHI : 50 from VSS and 8 from PEC, which included families of all pupils.



VAB imparted basic computer skills and literacy to CWHI of 10 years and above numbering 25 pupils focusing on MS Excel, Data Entry, Spreadsheet Management and application of basic mathematic functions. Other pupils at the centre in the same age group were guided to strengthen their fundamental computer skills by using MS Paint and formatting of general documents through MS Word.



Four advanced learners were introduced to AI tools such as ChatGPT & Canva. They were able to use these platforms to explore textbook concepts. This new digital exposure enhanced their overall computer skills very substantially.



VSS taught its pupils of similar age of 10 years and above, basic concepts of photosynthesis, the human body and nutrition. They were also taught to recognise different colours with name descriptions, various shapes and fruits as well personal hygiene through flashcards, worksheets and educational story-telling. These initiatives of VSS helped pupils very meaningfully to develop their language skills and STEM-based [Science Technology Engineering Mathematics] learning.
