The apt name colloquially translates to Smile and Be Happy. It is a Centre for disabled children between the ages of 3 to 16 years run by a group of dedicated teachers headed by its founder, Mrs. Urna Bose. It cares for 30 such students by engaging them in creative work in textiles, handicrafts and spices, with a view to enable them to gain financial independence by pursuing a vocation to which they are inclined.



Summarized activities for the quarter ended 30th June, 2026:



The Centre conducted their annual assessments of the progress of each of their pupils in preparation for the academic year 2026/27 which commenced in May, 2026, following the conclusion of the summer break.



A 15-day Summer Camp was held at the Centre when 5 pupils were taught a new skill : photocopying. This evinced enthusiastic response resulting in pupils grasping the rudiments of photocopying with pleasure and ease.



During the Summer Camp, pupils and teachers enjoyed a lunch of biryani rounded off with ice-cream.



The 165th Rabindra Jayanti was observed at the Centre by all pupils and teachers on 7th May, 2026 when pupils were presented individual gifts.



The Centre received fresh orders for various Ground Masalas as well as saris bearing artistic designs created by pupils under the supervision and guidance of an Art Professional.
